Left at the bottom of the pit, our heroes silently lick their wounds and drift off to sleep. While asleep, Cerys gets a visit from some deified source. She looks up to see a pillar, covered in moonlight, and senses the urge to start digging near it.
One Diggy Diggy Hole later, and she finds a skeleton with an axe and some gilded shiny armor, complete with a shield, encrusted with a deer’s head. Hearing a voice in her head binding her to a promise to finish what the skeleton could not, Cerys heartily accepts her new role as paladin.
When they all finished resting, they were ambushed by a few monks, but were quickly dispatched. So, with nothing further to stop them, they pressed on into the underground maze, fighting off more baddies, and finally getting the hell out.
The heroes escaped for a bit, rested outside, and proceeded to make their way towards the nearby town of who-gives-a-fuck-anymore, and rest. Lucas took this time to buy a big old flask of acid.
While outside traveling, a mysterious set of armor appeared, and seemed friendly enough. It protected them from anyone looking to attack them, and prevented them from falling in a river. Thank you, Malek of the Sarafan, you were most helpful.
After going back into the Sacred Stone Monastery, they entered a magically-sealed barrier. Inside was a lich named Renwick Carradoon, brother of Samular Carradoon. He gave them some potions and protection amulets in exchange for a promise that they’d kill off everyone in the monastery. Fair enough deal.
This brought them to their biggest fight yet – a fight against the Abbess of the monastery: Hellenrae. Hellenrae called Cerys out into a one-on-one fight, but Lucas wasn’t having any of that. He attempted to throw that big bottle of acid at Hellenrae, but royally failed, whimpering as the bottle fell on the floor and melted a hole through to the lower levels.
After a vicious fight, everyone wound up on the floor… And Lucas… well… Lucas didn’t make it.
He passed peacefully while bleeding out on the stone floor.
Cerys was also down for the count, and Phantar took off running while shooting arrows behind him. She caught up, forcing him to square off with her directly. With a stroke of luck and fate intervention, he was able to finish her off swiftly. I now dub thee, Phantar the Finisher.
Using a healing kit, he brought Cerys back up, and the two dragged Lucas off to Renwick, hoping a creature such as a lich would know a thing or two about resurrecting people from the dead.
Meanwhilst…
Lucas is sitting in a forest, with unicorns mating and shitting everywhere. Butterflies are flapping around, spreading pollen and making him sneeze. He turned to notice a big dark lich, corrupting the ground beneath him, and making everything die. Chaotically-speaking, this is the most out-of-place thing around, and Lucas was drawn to it. Everything spun around until finally he awoke, very very sore, on the cold stone floor.
Well, I guess the question is: now what?!
While Renwick was pleased with seeing Hellenrae’s head on a stick, he still had to go above and beyond the call of duty to bring Lucas back to life. Their deal now is to bring Samular Carradoon’s body back to him, as this is where he truly belongs.
Meh, whatever. They left, but not before all hell broke loose. The Feather Gale Spire people are here, and had thought (and hoped) the heroes would be dead. They hadn’t exactly planned on the heroes… you know… living through the ordeal, and they also hadn’t counted on them killing off Hellenrae. Before the heroes could escape, Qarbo (the Qbert Carbohydrate) appeared, and was dispatched rather quickly. Freeing slaves along the way, the heroes made their way back to town.
Back in town, the heroes asked nicely to obtain the body of Samular, but were denied. Instead, they’re now tasked with furiously masturbating in the mountains just to get a good word in for getting that body.
They set off, but were ambushed by a camp full of the water cult members. They were all smacked into the ground, all of them eating dirt. Our heroes had been slain, and now everything fades to black.
What will happen now?
